Friday, September 14th 2018 – The cultural association CAMPO is pleased to announce the inauguration of the exhibition “The Dismantling Machine” edited by Emanuele Tira on Fri Oct 12th, at the Studio02 Gallery in Cremona at 18:30.

Local and international artists: Stefano Boccalini, Brunivo Buttarelli, Valeria Di Sabato, Ettore Favini, Ottavia Fiameni, Daniela Gorla, Simone Pellegrini, Marko Tadić, Luca Vitone, Dania Zanotto.

“[…] A huge, very complicated Dismantling Machine, with the optional of the Great Engineer” as Guido Casa defines the Universe. Inspired by this contemporary world vision, Emanuele Tira organized the exhibition to guide the public into and make it aware of the ecological themes via the art and through it to re-form the communication.

The artworks build up a new dialogue, the starting point – a cathartic one- to meditate on current geological area: the Anthropocene.

This is the era where human activities dominate the Earth, where we can see the engine for the climatic, geographic and structural changes.

The introductory panels of the exhibition are a chronicle of the main events in human history from the Industrial Revolution (XVIII century) till today, the starting point for the artists’ views.

It is a reflection on the correlation between the increased frequency, starting from the Fifties, of the so called natural disasters and human responsibilities: neglecting the eco system and the inconsistency of the proposed solution, a superficial mantra of saving ecology.

Vandana Shiva quotes “In a moment where we neglect, and concentrate only on profit, we destroy the social conditions that feed the intellectual diversity “.

With their sensitivities, the artists in the exhibition, they have been able to focus on this dystonia and via different avenues, their artworks focus on the willingness to get back to the concept very well expressed by M. Merleau-Ponty: “Nature is the primordial, that is, the non- constructed, the un-established; hence the idea of an eternity of nature, of a solidity”

Based on these ideas and the desire for a new consideration of nature and of ecology in multiple environments where technology evolves in all areas, including art, the artists are invited to propose artworks that can stimulate the public to reflect on the primary role of Art and how it can build new and alternative environments, and how it ca re-activate the connection between research, cultural experimentation and social analysis.
