Mr. Cazzulani, who spoke together with Milanese PD Deputy Secretary for European and International Affairs Carmine Pacente, on Saturday 3/22 in a public conference in Como, which was also attended by PD Lombardy regional Councillor Luca Gaffuri, Como PD Secretary Stefano Fanetti and Como PD Deputy Secretary for Organization Tommaso Legnani, underlined that the ratification of "political" chapters of EU-Ukraine AA strengthens EU commitment in the development of democracy, peace, justice and human rights in Ukraine, in particularly after Russian military annexation of Crimea.
"The AA ratification is an historical step for EU-Ukrainian rapprochement: Europe must show that EU doors are open to those Ukrainians that want to run away from a desperate humanitarian and economical situation that is also due to Russian occupation of a significant part of Ukrainian national land. I'm very worried by the support of Beppe Grillo, the leader of one of the most important parliamentary groups in Italy, to the so called Crimean referendum. This electoral competition, that was unrecognized by the whole international community except Russia, complicates the opportunity to open a dialogue with Russian President Putin, as two important PD members as European Parliament Vice-president Gianni Pittella and Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini already noticed" Mr. Cazzulani said.
