FILITALIA. PRESIDENT CAZZULANI WELCOMES NEW US AMBASSADOR TO ITALY

Cremona Chapter President: "Mr. Philips' appointment is an opportunity to strengthen the knowledge of the USA in Italy"

CREMONA 07-12-2013 - Filitalia International Cremona Chapter President Matteo Cazzulani gratulated Mr. John R. Philips for his nomination as the new US ambassador to Italy.

President Cazzulani appreciated the appointment, that US President Barack Obama directly made, of a US citizen with Italian origins as the new envoy of the USA to Italy.

President Cazzulani hopes that Ambassador Philips will further strengthen US-Italian relationship from the cultural, geopolitical, economical and energy point of view.

"In Italy, which is one of the most anti-American countries of the EU, Mr. Philips has to represent the true face of the USA: tolerance, democracy, freedom and HR. The  new US Ambassador can always rely on my support, as a Filitalia International member and a HR activist who considers the USA as the benchmark of liberty in the world" President Cazzulani said.

President Cazzulani also thanked outgoing US Ambassador to Italy

David Thorne for his strong commitment in the strengthening of US-Italian relationship during past years.

President Cazzulani also gratulated Mr. Geoffrey Pyatt, who was tapped  the new US Ambassador to Ukraine, and thanked outgoing US Envoy to the Eastern Country John Tefft.

"Mr. Tefft well represented the USA, and also the whole western civilization, in Ukraine, during a hard period for this country. A strong representation of the USA in Ukraine is necessary, in order to move Ukrainian political authorities to stop the use of selective prosecution against members of the Democratic Opposition, as former PM Yulia Tymoshenko" President Cazzulani added.
