Bottega Italiana - Lesson Day del 12 ottobre a Cremona

In occasione dello Stradivarifestival il Museo del Violino ospita presso il Padiglione Mostre Temporanee la mostra di liuteria Bottega Italiana. Rare String Instruments of the Chi-Mei Collection (22 settembre – 13 ottobre 2013).

A conclusione dell’esposizione, sabato 12 ottobre alcuni rappresentanti del Comitato scientifico presentano documentazioni storiche, caratteristiche stilistiche e spunti di indagine sugli strumenti esposti. La giornata è pensata in particolare per i liutai e agli studenti delle scuole di liuteria, che potranno osservare e porre a confronto i preziosi strumenti della collezione Chi-Mei, scoprendo autori meno noti ma non per questo meno importanti, protagonisti! essi stessi della nascita di quelle scuole che tra la fine del Seicento e la prima metà dell’Ottocento caratterizzarono il panorama liutario italiano.

Tale evento sarà ospitato nel Padiglione delle Esposizioni Temporanee del Museo del Violino (10 - 12:30). Il numero di posti a sedere è limitato (100), pertanto si invita chi volesse partecipare a iscriversi entro e non oltre l'11 ottobre 2013, compilando il relativo modulo e inviando la documentazione richiesta a scientific@museodelviolino.org (soggetto: educational day). In occasion of the Stradivarifestival the exhibition of lutherie Bottega Italiana. Rare String Instruments of the Chi-Mei Collection is housed in the Temporary Exhibitions Pavilion, inside of the Museo del Violino (22 September – 13 October, 2013).

As the exhibition draws to a close, on Saturday 12 October a number of members of the Scientific Committee presents brief lectures on the displayed instruments. They will position the instruments within the historical context in which they were produced, and in particular highlight the stylistic characteristics that differentiate them.

Because of the opportunities this event offers for work, study and investigation, it will be particularly dedicated to the new generation of young violinmakers and students currently attending violinmaking schools. This rare chance to observe and compare instruments by artisans from diverse geographic and cultural backgrounds offers an unmissable introduction to understandin! g how the panorama of historical Italian violinmaking has been characterized by the development of local schools, often limited to artisans whose names are not very well known but who are still of great interest and importance to anyone involved in violinmaking today.

The event will be held in the Temporary Exhibition Pavilion of the Museo del Violino (10 am - 12:30 pm). The number of places is limited (100), so anyone who would like to participate is invited to register no later than 11 October, 2013, by completing the registration form and sending the requested documentation to scientific@museodelviolino.org (subject: educational day). Registration is free.
