Philadelphia - Una mostra sull'immigrazione italiana nella East Passyunk Avenue di Philadelphia è stata inaugurata durante un evento coordinato dal Fondatore e Presidente Emerito di Filitalia International, Pasquale Nestico, presso il Museo della Storia dell'Immigrazione Italiana a South Philadelphia, nella giornata di giovedì, 5 Dicembre.
Nestico, in rappresentanza del Presidente di Filitalia International Rosetta Miriello, del Presidente del Museo della Storia dell'immigrazione Italiana a Philadelphia e del Project Manager, Mike Bonasera e Wanda Bonasera, della Presidente della Commissione Funraising di Filitalia International Paula DeSanctis Bonavitacola, e del Governatore del Distretto Italia di Filitalia International, Daniele Marconcini, ha presentato la mostra istallata sul Walking Wall del museo.
La mostra è composta da una decina di foto inedite, video e musica popolare dell'epoca della prima emigrazione italiana negli Stati Uniti.
Nestico ha anche invitato i partecipanti a prendere parte alla Capital Campaign di Filitalia International a sostegno del Museo della Storia dell'Immigrazione Italiana acquistando una mattonella ubicata nel marciapiede antistante al museo dedicata al proprio nome, a quello della propria famiglia, della propria attività o persino ad una persona amata.
"La Capital Campaign di Filitalia International è una parte importante dell'attività della nostra organizzazione che mira a mantenere per sempre il Museo della Storia dell'Immigrazione Italiana: il nostro scopo è quello di fare del museo la casa di tutti coloro che amano la cultura italiana. Altresì, il museo è un posto unico ove è possibile prendere conoscenza degli inizi umili e del considerevole contributo che le origini italiane hanno dato per la realizzazione del Sogno Americano: il duro lavoro e anni di sofferenze hanno posto le fondamenta affinché migliaia di italiani avessero potuto raggiungere posizioni di tutto rispetto nella società americana" ha dichiarato Nestico.
Anche il Curatore della mostra Renee Glinger e i rappresentanti della Comunità di East Passyunk Avenue Barbara Zippi e Jim Gallo hanno partecipato all'inaugurazione.

Exhibit on Italian Immigration on East Passyunk. Nestico (Filitalia): "Italian Roots set the stage for the realization of the American Dream"
Philadelphia - The opening night of a new exhibit on the history of Italian immigration on East Passyunk Avenue, chaired by the Founder and President Emeritus of Filitalia International, Dr. Pasquale Nestico, took place at the History of Italian Immigration Museum of Filitalia International in South Philadelphia on Thursday, December 4. A hundred visitors from Philadelphia, other cities of the United States, Italy and Latin America attended the event.
Dr. Nestico, on behalf of the President of Filitalia International Rosetta Miriello, the Chair and the Project Manager of HIIM, Mike Bonasera and Wanda Bonasera, the Chair of Filitalia International Fundraising Committee Paula DeSanctis Bonavitacola, and the Governor of the District of Italy Daniele Marconcini, presented the new exhibit installed on the walking wall of the museum.
The exhibit, realized in partnership with East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District, is composed of tens of unpublished photos, an original video, and folk Italian music of the period of the early Italian immigration.
Dr. Nestico also invited the participants to take part in Filitalia International Capital Campaign to help support the HIIM by purchasing a tile on the sidewalk in front of the museum engraved in their own name, in the one of their own family, business activity or in the one of a beloved person.
"Filitalia International Capital Campaign is a branch of our organization that aims to keep the museum forever: our goal is to make the History of Italian Immigration Museum of Filitalia International the house of all who love the Italian cultural heritage. HIIM is a unique place to experience the humble beginning and the enormous contribution of the Italian roots to the realization of the American Dream: hard work and years of sufferance set the stage for thousands of Italians to reach high positions in all aspect of the American society" Dr. Nestico said.
