The Civic Pact for Lombardy and the right wing coalition to obtain the 38% of Lombardian people’s vote. Gabriele Albertini’s centre-right Civic Movement and Serena Carcano’s populist 5 Stars Movement to obtain the 9% of votes, whereas Pinardi’s Do to Stop the Decline is to be voted by a 1% of voters
The real polling station’s result is not always the same one which is indicated by the opinion polls, however the Lombardy regional election is becoming particularly dependent on last opinion data.
According to last opinion poll’s result, the Civic Pact for Lombardy, whose candidate is Milanese Lawyer Umberto Ambrosoli, and the right wing coalition, which is led by Northern League party’s national secretary and Former Welfare Minister in the national government Roberto Maroni, are closer to a 39% ex aequo result.
The Civic pact for Lombardy is a coalition formed by the Democratic Party of Lombardy, Milan’s mayor Giuliano Pisapia’s left wing SEL party, the Socialist Party, centre-left IDV party and centrist Lombardian Popular Centre.
The Civic Pact for Lombardy supports a health system’s reform with health system taxes’ cancellation for the poorest, together with a health payment system’s reformation for the richest in accordance to personal incomes.
Moreover, the Civic Pact for Lombardy’s candidate Umberto Ambrosoli supports pro-legality measures after several scandals of corruption have involved former Lombardy’s Governor Roberto Formigoni and his right wing ruling coalition.
Also right wing coalition’s candidate Roberto Maroni proposes pro-legality measures, in order to challenge corruption in the most important Italian region.
The right wing coalition, formed by the regionalist Northern League and Former Lombardy’s governor Formigoni’s PDL right wing party, promises to break with its past by choosing a new candidate who never had deals with corruption.
Moreover, the right wing coalition proposes to keep in Lombardy the 75% of the taxes which the most important Italian region must give to Rome’s central government.
Maroni also plans to make Lombardy a bigger Northern Italian macro-region together with other Northern Italy’s regions ruled by Northern League and PDL’ s coalition: Piemonte, Veneto and Friuli-Venezia-Giulia.
The electoral campaign is also participated by PDL party’s MEP and former Milan’s mayor Gabriele Albertini. Albertini is supported by the centre-right wing Civic Movement, and obtained the endorsement by Italian PM Mario Monti.
Albertini Civic Movement’s electoral campaign is orientated not only to stole right wing electors’ vote, but also to obtain the centre-left supporters one.
According to last opinion polls, Albertini will obtain around the 9% of Lombardian people’s votes.
Other two candidates are going to participate in the Lombardy regional election. Serena Carcano, the candidate of the populist 5 Stars’ Movement, is expected to obtain the 10% of votes.
Do to Stop the Decline libertarian movement’s candidate Carlo Maria Pinardi is going to obtain the 1% of votes.
Lombardy’s regional election will take place 2/24 and 25. During past 17 years Lombardy has been ruled by several right wing coalitions led by Roberto Formigoni: a member of the powerful PDL conservative internal stream named Communion and Liberation – CL.
