"TYMOSHENKO MUST BE FREED IF UKRAINE WANTS TO BECOME A PARTNER OF THE EU" CAZZULANI (FILITALIA)
MILAN - Matteo Cazzulani, Chairman of the Integration Committee of Filitalia International Italian District, called Ukrainian Political Authorities to suddenly release from jail the Leader of the Ukrainian Opposition Yulia Tymoshenko on Friday October 11.
Chairman Cazzulani, the day of the second anniversary of Tymoshenko imprisonment, stressed that Ukraine must follow the request made by the EU to respect Human Rights and Democracy and stop immediately with selective prosecutions on members of the opposition.
"If Ukraine does not free Tymoshenko, Kyiv won't integrate in the EU, loosing an opportunity of development and progress. It is not acceptable that a country that desires to become a strong EU partners still keep in jail the leader of the Opposition, who was condemned after an unfree process" Chairman Cazzulani said.

THE TYMOSHENKO CASE
Tymoshenko was jailed in October 2011 after an unfair process that was considered by the International Community a case of selective justice and political prosecution.
Once jailed, a deeply ill Tymoshenko was spied and beaten, whereas the Ukrainian Authorities denied her any medical treatment.
In addition to Tymoshenko, the Ukrainian Judicial Authorities sent to jail other members of the Democratic Opposition. Moreover, the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych restricted the freedom of press in the country, rigged Parliamentary and Local Elections, deprived the Parliament from powers.
