SHALABAYEVA CASE: WHY MINISTER ALFANO MUST GO
The Italian Minister of Internal Affairs to face a non confidence vote after the deportation of the most important Kazakh dissident's wife and daughter. The Italian Parliament has now the opportunity to make Italy a modern western country committed in democracy and HR
MILAN - A big shame for Italy, an anti-western foreign policy that must stop as soon as possible. On Friday, 19 July, the Italian Parliament is expected to vote on a non-confidence vote to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Angelino Alfano.
Minister Alfano, the right wing PDL Party's Secretary, is criticize for the deportation of the wife of the most important Kazakh dissident Mukhtar Ablyazov, Ms. Shalabayeva, and her daughter: an event occurred on June the first in Sardinia.
According to several media, the operation, made by a Special Corp of Italian Police -which is controlled by the Ministry of Internal Affairs- was probably organized a couple of days before, during a meeting between the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and former Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi, the PDL fonder and immediate past Secretary.
The most important world NGO committed in the defense of HR demonstrated that Nazarbayev is the leader of a dictatorship in which dissidents and journalists are repressed by force, violence and selective justice.
Guns with Putin, praises to the 'democratic' Lukashenka
While leading the Italian Government from 2001 to 2010, Former Italian PM Berlusconi had tight relationships not only with Nazarbayev, but also with other well known HR violators as Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The personal friendship between Berlusconi and Putin moved Italy to support the anti-European Russian energy policy and the imperialistic geopolitical plans that Russia conceived to restore a new post-Soviet empire in former USSR.
Berlusconi also praised Belorussian dictator Alyaksandar Lukashenka as the most democratic President of an European state.
Therefore, Berlusconi forgot that all elections in Belarus are retained as unfree and unfair. Moreover, in Belarus each party that criticizes Lukashenka is automatically out of law, whereas dissidents and journalists are repressed by violence and selective prosecution.
Berlusconi also had tight relationships with former Libyan Dictator Muhammad Qaddafi, with whom he signed a bilateral Treaty that obliges Italy to give Libya money to guarantee the stop of the human emigration from Northern Africa to Europe.
Another example of the irresponsible foreign policy in Italy was the one of former Minister of Foreign Affairs MassimoD'Alema in 2006, when, in front of cameras, he publicly embraced the leader of Lebanese terroristic organizationHetzbollah.
Together with the EU and the USA in defense of HR, democracy and liberty
By considering Italian political elites' past liaisons with dictators and illiberal leaders, it is now necessary that Italy adopts a new foreign policy, based on democracyHR and Liberty.
Italy must stop to be considered as a pro-Russian and pro-Arabian country, and also, by consequence, a less disciplined EU member, as well as an unfaithful ally of the USA.
Minister Alfano dismissal could provoke the fall of the Italian Government, led by PM Enrico Letta -a member of centre left Democratic Party- and supported by a 'Big Coalition' of the Italian Democrats and the PDL Party.
Although the 'Big Coalition' is the unique solution the Italian Parliament could adopt, in order to have a Government in a period of deep social and economic crisis, Minister Alfano, who cannot be considered as not responsible of Ms. Shalabayeva's deportation, must be dismissed.
We need to show the entire world that we are not a country allied with terrorists and dictators, but a western country committed in the defense western values worldwide, together with the EU and the USA
At the same time, Italy cannot help Putin and Former Soviet dictators in the threatening of liberty and freedom of press in any region of the world.
