Lombardy Region : Governor Formigoni appointed a new regional government
Lombardian governor confirmed just three Assessors in new Lombardian government. Center-left opposition faces primaries to appoint the official governor candidate for next spring early elections
A new regional government appointed to lead Lombardy to early administrative election. On Monday 10/22, Lombardy Region's governor Roberto Formigoni appointed a new government in order to administrate the most important Italian region until next spring's election.
Governor Formigoni, a right wing PDL party's politician, confirmed Lombardian Northern League member Andrea Gibelli as the Lombardy Region Vice Governator. Moreover, also confirmed PDL Valentina Aprea as Work and Culture Assessor, and PDL Romano Colozzi as business Assessor.
Other Lombardian Government members are the technicians Sla Italian National Association Mario Melazzini, appointed as Health Assessor, and University Bocconi Professor Andrea Gilardoni as Transports Assessor.
Moreover, governor Formigoni appointed PDL Giovanni Bozzetti as Trade and Tourism Assessor, technician Leonardo Salvemini as Energy Assessor, Elena Pellegrini as Family Affairs Assessor, and Nazareno Giovannelli Carabineers General as urbanistic deals Assessor.
Following a PDL-Lombardian Northern League coalition fall, governor Formigoni announced the creation of a new Lombardian government to lead the most important Italian region to early election on December or spring.
The PDL most important ruling party, which led Lombardy Region in alliance with the Lobardian Nothern League since 2010, is going to candidate former Milan's Mayor Gabriele Albertini as next Lombardy's governor thanks to centrist UDC party's help (UDC is now an opposition political force in Lobardy).
The Lombardian Northern League officially supported Roberto Maroni Northern League National Secretary's candidature. Lay PDL councillors also supported this proposal, despite of conservative PDL councillors opposition, who support governor Formigoni's position.
On the other side of Lombardy's politics, lawer Umberto Abrosoli refused to be the the center-left coalition's candidate because of the lack of time to organize a serious electoral campaign.
By his Twitter Account, Ambrosoli criticized the lack of time to write a serious electoral program, and create a strong team able to allow opposition to win the early electoral challenge.
Following Ambrosoli's resignation, the opposition is going to organize a primary election to appoint the official center-left candidate.
Most important competitors will be probably Democratic Party of Lombardy's Secretary Maurizio Martina, councillor-democrat Pippo Civati, left wing SEL party's councillor Giulio Cavalli, and center-left IDV party's spokesman Stefano Zamponi.
