Oil and gas: Russia and the UK to foster their partnership

Oil and Gas: Russia and the UK to start a strong global partnership
Russian national concern Rosneft became the first world oil company after TNK-BP third Russian energetic company's complete acquisition. British concern BP to participate in Rosneft border of chiefs.

According to Gazeta Wyborcza Polish newspaper the alliance between Russia and England is like an earthquake which stressed world energetic balance.

On Monday 10/22 Russian national major Rosneft bought from BP British concern a 50% stake in third Russian energetic company TNK-BP, and became the most important oil company in the world.

According to Platts, Rosneft also plans to buy an additional 28% TNK-BP stakes from Alfa-Access-Renova concern (AAR), which is owned by several Russian businessmen supported by Russian PM Dmitriy Medvedev.

In exchange of TNK-BP stake's sell, BP obtained a 20% of Rosneft stakes, and planed to by an additional 6% Rosneft stakes by a credit from another Russian statal company Rosneftegaz.

As The Guardian noticed, the Rosneft operation in TNK-BP represents a political victory for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin.

Moreover, BP fostered its partnership with Rosneft, and British concern's envoys can now take part in Russian national major border of chiefs.

A strong relationship between Russia and the UK is also in gas sector.

According to Lombardi nel Mondo news agency, British Conservative MEP Martin Callanan informed about British ruling party support to the Nordstream.

Russia and Germany planed Nordstream pipeline to carry Russian gas directly in western Europe, and also to isolate several EU countries as Poland, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia.

MEP Callanan underlined that British Conservatives will support Nordstream extension to to England in order to diversify UK national gas supplies.

At the same time, MEP Callanan also noticed that Nordstream pipeline doesn't help the EU to diversify European gas supplies from Russia's quasi monopoly.

For this reason, according to MEP Callanan's declaration, the British conservatives will also support the EU Southern Corridor  construction.

The EU Southern Corridor has been planed by the European Commission to carry 16 bcm gas per year from Azerbaijan directly to Europe by Nabucco and TAP pipelines.

Nabucco and TAP are alternative projects (Nabucco is supported by Austria, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey, and TAP is endorsed by Greece, Albania and Italy), but Callanan stressed the two pipelines can cooperate to cover different gas routes in Southern and Central Europe.
