The Milanese lawyer is the official Democratic Party of Lombardy’s candidate on next centre-left primary election. Right wing PDL party’s MEP, and former Milan’s mayor, Gabriele Albertini to lead a “Civic Lombardy List” without any partnership with the Northern League
The Lombardian regional election is going to be full of civic projects and contents.
On Tuesday 11/13 the Milanese lawyer Umberto Ambrosoli obtained the official Democratic Party of Lombardy's candidature nomination.
After a two days long official meeting of the regional committee, the Democratic Party of Lombardy sentenced Ambrosoli is the candidate of a “Civic Pact for the change” in the most important Italian region.
Once obtained the Democratic Party of Lombardy’s official nomination, Ambrosoli will challenge in a centre-left primary election with centre-right IDV party’s spokesman Stefano Zamponi, the left wing SEL party’s councillor Giulio Cavalli, and the left wing doctor Alessandra Kunstermann.
A primary election is an idea that also former right wing ruling coalition is considering. On Wednesday 11/14 Lombardy’s Region governor Roberto Formigoni didn’t reject the possibility of an internal consultation in the centre-right politician field.
Governor Formigoni endorsed the candidature of former Milan’s mayor Gabriele Albertini. Albertini, a right wing PDL party’s MEP, will be the leader of a “Civic Lombardy list”: a project which aims to involve the Lombardian civil society and represent the moderate electorate of the most important Italian region.
As an alternative to Albertini project, The Northern League, which is the former PDL political partner in the right wing ruling coalition, already named its national secretary Roberto Maroni as the official candidate in next regional election.
According to Maroni’s declarations, also the Northern League’s candidate will be supported by a coalition of several civic lists formed by exponents of the civil society and little countries mayors.
The Northern League is going to run separately from the PDL party, but it’s possible that the two right wing Lombardian political forces will name a common candidate after a primary election between Albertini and Maroni.
On Tuesday 11/13, the national Ministry of the Interior fixed for next 2/10-11 the date of next early Lombardian regional election.
Roberto Formigoni’s right wing regional government, supported by the PDL party and the Northern League, fell after a scandal of corruption involved PDL Housing assessor Domenico Zambetti.
Formigoni, a PDL politician and leader of the PDL internal conservative stream CL, trice has been elected by the popular vote as Lombardy Region governor, in 2000, 2005 and 2010.
