A Voice from America 3

Many of you asked me why, over the past months, I'm not writing about Ukraine and Central Eastern Europe.

A Voice from America 3

Since I moved to the United States, and since I issued my last essay on the trial of former Ukrainian PM Yulia Tymosenko -the essay is titled "Ucraina, gas e manette. Il processo a Yulia Tymoshenko" I decided not to interfere in internal Ukrainian political affairs.

I believe it is a professional, just and correct attitude. Ukrainians should let be alone to work to finally create a democratic, European and developed country which will hopefully soon become a part of the Trans Atlantic Community.

To be honest, my silence on Ukrainian affairs does not mean that I'm not observing the issue and, in a more important way, it does not mean that I won't back to support Ukrainian path to democracy and liberty whether the situation would eventually worsen.

At the same time, I believe it is more interesting, and useful, to analyze energy and political issues of the United States, the benchmark of western democracies which is likely to become the benchmark of world energy policy too.

That's why I send you the link to a new analysis I was honored to write for the prestigious center of global studies "Strategia XXI"

http://geostrategy.org.ua/en/component/k2/item/638-ssha-ta-kanada-konkuruyut-yak-golovni-eksporteri-energoresursiv-v-svitoviy-geopolititsi/638-ssha-ta-kanada-konkuruyut-yak-golovni-eksporteri-energoresursiv-v-svitoviy-geopolititsi

This analysis is related to the rising confrontation between the United States and Canada: two countries likely to become two new top-world energy exporters.

On the one hand, the United States can depend on and extraordinary shale gas bonanza to become one of the first world exporters to the Asia/Pacific region and to Europe.

On the other hand, Canada relies on crude sand oil of Alberta as a source of energy to be exported to Asia and elsewhere in the world.

I take advantage of this email to wish to you all and to your families Happy Holidays.
