SAN MARZIALE DAY. NESTICO (FILITALIA): “AN IMPORTANT CELEBRATION FRO THE ITALIAN COMMUNITY AND THE ALL TOWN OF PHILADELPHIA”
On Sunday, May 5th, at Stella Maris Church in Philadelphia, PA, 10th & Bigler Streets, will be held San Marziale Day.
The event, a part of the Italian culture and heritage which has been celebrated for 33 years, is organized by Filitalia International South Eastern Philadelphia COSMI Chapter.
A Holy Mass celebrated at 1 PM in Italian in memory of San Marziale, the Holy Patron of Isca sullo Ionio, a little Town in Calabria Region, Catanzaro Province, Italy, will be followed at 2 PM by a procession.
From 3 PM to 8 PM, a Italian traditional buffet will be served, together with a dancing session animated by the legendary DJ Johnny Looch, at the price of 25$ per person, and 10$ for children under 12 years.
“San Marziale Day is an important cultural event which reflects the culture, the religion and the popular tradition of Calabria region. We started celebrating this Day of our Italian Motherland to keep alive the heritage of those Italians who live and work in Philadelphia” – said Filitalia International South East Philadelphia Chapter’s Founder, Pasquale Nestico.
